Started offering M.E. in Power Systems Engineering in the year 2005 with an intake of 20 and increased intake to 24 in 2012 (F.No.Southern/1-687512981/2012/EOA, dated 10.05.2012, AICTE).



PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO1: Ability to engage in applications oriented work and management of the electrical power industry, including generation, transmission, distribution, electrical machines and machine control.

PEO2: Ability to work as teaching faculty in reputed institutions and work as engineer in IT industries.

PEO3: Ability to engage in research and development activities

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

PO1:Graduates will be able to demonstrate the principles and practices of the electrical power industry regarding generation, transmission, distribution and electrical machines and their controls.

PO2:Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge of electrical power principles, as well as mathematics and scientific principles, to new applications in electrical power.



PO3:Graduates will be able to perform, analyze, and apply the results of experiments to   electrical power application improvements

PO4:Graduates will be able to look at all options in design and development projects and creativity  and choose the most appropriate option for the current project

PO5:Graduates will function effectively as a member of a project team

PO6:Graduates will be able to identify problems in electrical power systems, analyze the problems, and solve them using all of the required and available resources

PO7:Graduates will be able to effectively communicate technical project information in   
writing or  in personal presentation and conversation.

PO8:Graduates will be engaged in continuously learning the new practices, principles, and  techniques of the electrical power industry

PO9:Graduates will work on application software packages for power system analysis and design.

PO10:Graduates will develop indigenous software packages for power system planning and operational problems of utilities
